About Victoza
Victoza (liraglutide) 6mg/ml pfp is a daily, non-insulin injection designed to help manage type 2 diabetes in adults and children aged 10 and older. It works by lowering blood sugar levels and A1C, making it an effective treatment alongside diet and exercise. For adults with type 2 diabetes and heart disease, Victoza® also reduces the risk of serious cardiovascular events, including heart attack, stroke, and death.
Caution
Do not use Victoza® if you or a family member has a history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2). Avoid using Victoza® if you are allergic to liraglutide or any of its ingredients. Check for symptoms of an allergic reaction under the potential side effects section.
Victoza (liraglutide) 6mg/ml pfp comes as an injection and treats people with type 2 diabetes, not type 1 diabetes.
Key instructions for use
Inject under the skin (abdomen, thigh, or upper arm), rotating injection sites to avoid lumps, and not mixing it with insulin in the same syringe.
Common side effects
nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, decreased appetite, indigestion, and constipation.
Contraindications
- Individuals with type 1 diabetes
- Other medications containing liraglutide
- People allergic to any of the constituents
- Its safety and efficacy in reducing blood sugar in children under 10 years of age is not known.
