Description
Doctors commonly prescribe Sunitinib, known as Sunitix, for several purposes. They use it to thwart gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) in patients whose tumors did not respond well to or cannot tolerate imatinib (Gleevec).
Additionally, doctors use it to manage advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and to minimize the likelihood of RCC recurrence following kidney removal surgery.
Doctors also administer Sunitinib for advanced pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNET) that are not suitable for surgical intervention.
