Description
Sunitinib, commonly known as Sunitix, is a medication prescribed for several purposes.
It is employed to thwart gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) in patients whose tumors did not respond well to or cannot tolerate imatinib (Gleevec).
Additionally, it is utilized in the management of advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and to minimize the likelihood of RCC recurrence following kidney removal surgery. Furthermore, Sunitinib is administered for pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNET) that have advanced and are not suitable for surgical intervention.
