Description
Rosuvastatin is a statin drug that helps reduce heart disease risk by lowering bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides while boosting good cholesterol (HDL).
It’s used in combination with diet, weight loss, and exercise to lower the risk of heart attacks and strokes, and to reduce the need for heart surgery in those at risk or with existing heart disease.
This medication also helps reduce cholesterol and other fats in the blood in both adults and children aged 7 to 17 years who suffer from familial homozygous hypercholesterolemia, a genetic disorder impairing the body’s ability to remove cholesterol.
Rosuvastatin slows cholesterol production in the body. This prevents cholesterol buildup along artery walls, a condition known as atherosclerosis, which can block blood flow and decrease oxygen supply to the heart, brain, and other areas.
Lowering blood levels of cholesterol and fats is proven to help prevent heart disease, angina, strokes, and heart attacks.
Rovista should be taken at night with or without food.
