Description
Ozempic (semaglutide) 0.25mg injection is a prescription medication administered via injection and is primarily used to manage blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. In combination with a proper diet and exercise, It helps improve glucose control. Additionally, it reduces the risk of significant cardiovascular events such as heart attacks, strokes, or death in adults with type 2 diabetes and pre-existing heart disease.
Important Considerations:
- Type 1 Diabetes: it is not intended for those with type 1 diabetes.
- Children: The safety and effectiveness of OZEMPIC® for individuals under 18 have not been established.
Ingredients:
- Active Ingredient: Semaglutide
- Inactive Ingredients: Disodium phosphate dihydrate, propylene glycol, phenol, and water for injection
How to Use OZEMPIC:
- Subcutaneous Injection: Inject OZEMPIC® under the skin of your stomach, thigh, or upper arm. Do not inject it into a muscle or vein.
- Weekly Schedule: Use OZEMPIC® once a week on the same day, at any time of the day.
- Missed Dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible within five days. If more than five days have passed, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule.
- Food: Take with or without food
- Insulin: Do not mix OZEMPIC® with insulin in the same injection. You may inject them in the same area but not right next to each other.
- Rotate Injection Sites: Use a different site for each injection to avoid using the same spot repeatedly.
- Monitor Blood Sugar
- Diet and Exercise: Continue following your prescribed diet and exercise plan while using OZEMPIC
Dosage Adjustments:
Your dose of OZEMPIC® and other diabetes medications may need adjustment due to changes in physical activity, weight, stress, illness, diet, fever, trauma, infection, surgery, or interactions with other medications.
Common Side Effects:
The most common side effects of OZEMPIC® may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and constipation.
