Description
What LEFLUNOMIDE 10MG TABLETS 30S belongs to a group of medications known as anti-rheumatic medicines. It contains the active ingredient leflunomide. Leflunomide is used to treat adult patients with active rheumatoid arthritis or active psoriatic arthritis.
Rheumatoid Arthritis Symptoms:
– Inflammation of joints
– Swelling
– Difficulty moving
– Pain
– Systemic symptoms: loss of appetite, fever, loss of energy, and anemia (lack of red blood cells)
Psoriatic Arthritis Symptoms:
– Inflammation of joints
– Swelling
– Difficulty moving
– Pain
– Skin lesions: patches of red, scaly skin
Leflunomide can be taken with or without food. However, do not consume alcohol during treatment with Arava, as it may increase the risk of liver damage.
Pregnancy and Breast-feeding
Pregnancy:
– Do not take Leflunomide if you are pregnant or suspect you may be pregnant.
– Leflunomide increases the risk of serious birth defects.
– Women of childbearing potential must use reliable contraceptive measures while taking Arava.
– If you plan to become pregnant after stopping Arava, ensure all traces of the drug are eliminated from your body, which can take up to 2 years.
– Do not take LEFLUNOMIDE 10MG TABLETS while breastfeeding, as leflunomide passes into breast milk.
