Hyalase: Effective Hyaluronidase for Enhanced Injection and Fluid Absorption
Hyalase is a prescription medication containing hyaluronidase, an enzyme that facilitates the breakdown of natural barriers in body tissues. This process helps improve the spread and absorption of injected fluids or medications, making it easier for them to be absorbed by the body. Additionally, Hyalase® aids in the reabsorption of excess fluids and blood in tissues.
How to Administer Hyalase®
- Dosage: The standard dose of Hyalase is 1500 International Units (IU).
- Preparation and Administration: Hyalase is typically dissolved in water for injections, normal saline, or the solution being injected. It is administered either intramuscularly (into a muscle) or subcutaneously (under the skin). For continuous subcutaneous infusion, Hyalase is injected into the infusion tubing.
- Administration by Healthcare Provider: Your doctor or nurse will determine the appropriate dose and method of administration based on your needs.
Storage and Handling
- Keep Away from Children: Store Hyalase® out of the reach of children.
- Temperature: Do not store above 25°C. Keep ampoules in their original package.
- Usage and Disposal: Use Hyalase® immediately after preparation. Discard any unused portion. Do not use if the powder has changed color (it should be white) or after the expiry date on the label. Dispose of unused medicines properly by consulting your pharmacist to avoid environmental contamination.
