Cataflam®: Anti-inflammatory and Anti-rheumatic Non-Steroidal Medication
Description and Composition
Pharmaceutical Form: Sugar-coated tablets.
Active Substance: Diclofenac potassium, where the sodium ion of diclofenac sodium (found in Voltaren®) is replaced by a potassium ion. Each Cataflam tablet contains either 25 mg or 50 mg of diclofenac potassium. Availability of specific strengths may vary by country.
Indications
Cataflam® is indicated for short-term treatment in the following acute conditions:
- Post-traumatic pain, inflammation, and swelling (e.g., sprains).
- Post-operative pain, inflammation, and swelling (e.g., after dental or orthopedic surgery).
- Painful and/or inflammatory gynecological conditions (e.g., primary dysmenorrhea, adnexitis).
- Migraine attacks.
- Painful vertebral column syndromes.
- Non-articular rheumatism.
- As an adjunct in severe painful inflammatory infections of the ear, nose, or throat (e.g., pharyngotonsillitis, otitis). Note: Fever alone is not an indication.
