Description
ATACAND Plus is an antihypertensive drug that consists of 2 active ingredients:
-Candesartan cilexetil 16mg
-Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5mg
Candesartan is an angiotensin ii receptor which dilates blood vessels and Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that helps remove water from the body. It helps in lowering high blood pressure.
How to take ATACAND Plus:
Take exactly as prescribed by your physician.
Always take it at the same time of the day.
Take before or after food. If it irritates your stomach, take it with a meal.
Inform your pharmacist or physician if you are using any other medication.
Do not take ATACAND Plus if you:
-Allergic to any ingredients.
-Pregnant or breastfeeding.
-Have a serious liver and kidney disease.
-Dehydrated
-Taking Angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors e.g. enalapril, captopril etc.
-Diabetic
-On a dialysis
-Have a heart attack or stroke
-On a low-salt diet
-Taking any drug that may increase potassium levels.
