What is Apidra?
- Apidra is an antidiabetic agent used to lower high blood sugar in diabetes mellitus patients.
- Suitable for adults, adolescents, and children aged 6 and older.
- Diabetes mellitus is characterized by insufficient insulin production to regulate blood sugar levels.
- Biotechnologically produced with a rapid onset within 10 minutes.
How to Use Apidra:
Dosage:
- Follow your doctor’s instructions precisely.
- Dosage is determined based on lifestyle, blood sugar test results, and previous insulin usage.
- Apidra is short-acting and may be combined with intermediate or long-acting insulin, basal insulin, or oral antidiabetic medications.
- If switching from another insulin to Apidra, dosage adjustments may be necessary.
Administration:
- Inject Apidra subcutaneously (under the skin) as instructed by your doctor.
- Recommended injection sites: abdomen, thigh, or upper arm.
- For continuous infusion, use the abdominal wall.
- Rotate injection sites within the chosen area to avoid skin issues.
- Inject Apidra 0-15 minutes before or soon after meals.

- SoloStar is a pre-filled disposable pen containing insulin glulisine.
- Consult your doctor for alternative injection methods.
Storage Instructions:
Unopened Pens:
- Store in a refrigerator (2°C-8°C).
- Do not freeze or place next to freezer packs.
- Keep it in the outer carton to protect it from light.
In-Use Pens:
- Store at room temperature (below 25°C) for up to 4 weeks, away from direct heat and light.
- Do not refrigerate in-use pens.
- Discard after 4 weeks or if the insulin appears cloudy or discolored.
Environmental Care:
- Do not dispose of wastewater or household waste.
- Consult your pharmacist on proper disposal methods to protect the environment.
